Business and Industry

Daresbury SIC has built, and continues to build, an impressive regional and national network. It has nearly 1000 individuals on its network database covering a range
of communities:

• High-tech SMEs
• Multi-national corporations
• Regional Universities
• Science and Technology Facilities Council
• Regional public sector support organisations
• Investors
• Service providers and consultants

These different communities are brought together through a variety of events:

• Monthly breakfast network meetings with a regular attendance of over 100 people
• Access 2 Experts programme providing information on business critical areas such as law, finance and intellectual property (IP), from the experts in these fields
• Other events giving high-tech SMEs access to a variety of opportunities including open innovation collaborations, export development and knowledge/technology exchange

About 25-30 events are typically run each year, with over 1,500 attendees. This has included some major regional and national events such as i-Tech Partner and “Doing Business in the USA”.
