Single Molecule Fluorescence

A world leading group of scientists at Daresbury have developed a dedicated Single Molecule Fluorescence (SMF) system allowing real time 3D visualisation of single drug molecules interacting with single receptor proteins within the membranes of living cells.

Daresbury operates the only two such systems in the world representing a paradigm shift in this area of science.

By working with Daresbury SIC’s Computer Science and Engineering Department, SMF scientists are looking to develop the modelling and simulation capabilities for this system.
