Technology facilities and products

The Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is one of Europe's largest multidisciplinary research organizations, and it supports scientists and engineers world-wide. The Daresbury Laboratory is one of their large-scale research facilities, which provides access to a wide range of technology and high-end scientific equipment to the UK scientific and research community.

Some of the facilities and equipment that can be accessed via the Daresbury Laboratory include:

• HPCx UK academic supercomputer - used for modeling and simulation
• SuperClean - critical precision cleaning for a wide range of high-tech applications
• National Centre for Electron Spectroscopy and Surface Ananlysis (NCESS) - collaborative research programmes between industry and academia
• Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSED) - has access to Northwest Grid and Visualisation System for modeling and simulation
• High Resolution X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy - powerful technique for surface analysis of materials
