Facilities and Services

Daresbury SIC offers a comprehensive range of facilities for businesses and their employees. With over 700 people working on the site, it offers all the support needed to run a
successful business.   

Logistics

• The logistics section is ideal for storing parcels and packages, including technical equipment and dangerous goods. 
• Logistics is also responsible for site waste management, skips for collection of recyclable materials and chemical disposals.

Rigging support

The campus operates two fork lift trucks to transport equipment either to the laboratory or simply outside the innovation centre for external collection.

Library

• Access to 21,000 books, over 550 current journals, both electronic and print, and a large technical reports collection 
• Subjects include physics, chemistry, mathematics, computing, engineering and management
• 24 hour access to reading rooms
• Advice on search techniques (e.g. patent searches) and checking references, access to on-line databases and inter-library loans

Media services

Daresbury Laboratory has a dedicated team in media services, encompassing wide-ranging experience in different fields.  The services provided include:

• Video conferencing facilities
• The media services team also provides the IT and VC set up and support for conference rooms and the lecture theatre should it be required.

Merrison lecture theatre

• Capacity of 156
• Ideal venue for conferences and large scale meetings 
• Media services support including a PC with PowerPoint and various other packages
• Dedicated video cameras and videoconferencing support
• Close proximity to the restaurant and coffee lounge, for effective catering provision

Conference rooms

• 6 conference and seminar rooms (including a boardroom) seating from 10-80 people all with presentation facilities (laptops and OHP)
• High definition videoconferencing provision
• Other AV facilities
• Coffee vending machines

Restaurant

• Dining facilities for up to 120 people at any one time
• Breakfast, lunch and evening meals provided 
• Restaurant is also available for informal meetings outside of these service times 

Coffee lounge

• Open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 15:45
• Serving a range of Costa coffees as well as soft drinks from the vending machine.

Deli Bar

• Opening Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 14:00

• No charges on debit card transactions.

• Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
