STFC Innovations Ltd
STFC Innovations Ltd (formally known as
CLIK) is the wholly-owned technology exploitation company of the Science & Technology
Facilities Council (STFC).
STFC Innovations Ltd has the exclusive rights to the commercial
exploitation of the intellectual property of the STFC and operates at the
council's institutes at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in
Oxfordshire, Daresbury Laboratory in Cheshire
and the Astronomy Technology Centre in Edinburgh. Working closely
with the technical inventors, the STFC Innovations Ltd team
progresses individual projects through various business models to
the point of implementation as commercial licenses or spin-out
companies.
Since its inception, STFC Innovations Ltd has spun out ten
companies based on STFC technology and is currently working on
spinning out a further five new ventures. Click here for further information.
STFC Innovations Ltd is also responsible for commercial access
to STFC facilities and
services and, as such, has established the first dedicated
technical sales and marketing team to be put in place by a research
council. This team is now the first point of contact for anyone in
industry wanting to explore interactions with the STFC.
