IDEAS at Daresbury

'IDEAS at Daresbury' (Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship and Science) is the new collaboration of the Business/Management Schools of the three stakeholder universities, along with Lancaster University's Design Thinking & Innovation Laboratory, Imagination. The initiative is further supported by the Science & Technology Facilities Council, the Northwest Regional Development Agency and Daresbury SIC.

'IDEAS at Daresbury' will promote and develop detailed understanding of effective knowledge exchange processes between hi-tech SMEs, large corporations, Universities and government laboratory science and technology. It will also evaluate the long-term impact of public investment in major science facilities and organisations, such as universities, science parks and research establishments, in particular the two new National Science & Innovation Campuses at Daresbury and Harwell.

IXC UK - InnovationXchange

As the UK's leading practitioner in open innovation, IXC UK was established to help companies share expertise and collaborate on research through its ground-breaking intermediary service.  IXC UK is working with the Daresbury Science & Innovation Campus to deliver open innovation services in the North West.  The project forms part of a wider-scale IXC UK pilot to address open innovation principally between smaller businesses and blue chip organisations and Higher education, to enable new applications for technologies and expansion of market horizons.

LEAD Programme

LEAD is a leadership development programme developed over the past 6 years by Lancaster University Management School and the NWDA who are investing £8 million in the programme.

The programme has been specifically designed for Owner Managers of small companies and is based on a framework that provides participants with a trusted network of likeminded SME owner managers and creates spaces to think and work strategically on the business.

The programme has seen fantastic results with 90% of companies seeing an increase in sales, profits, growth and confidence.
